Metta - loving kindness

Metta is one of the Four Brahmaviharas or Sublime States / Divine Attitudes. Translated as 'loving kindness', metta has many aspects. It is the recognition and empathy for the suffering of others while earnestly wishing for the well being of all sentient beings. It is the opposite of anger.

The Four Brahmaviharas are four attitudes or state of minds that are the answer to all social problems and are free from hate and anger.
